What days are the games played?
Games are played on Saturdays. There is one game scheduled on a Sunday. There are no games scheduled on long weekends.

What times are the games played?
The games times can be anytime between 9AM and 6PM. Your game times may vary from week to week and vary by age group. Usually younger age groups play earlier.

Where are the games played?
The games are played indoors at Skyway Arena which is conveniently located near the Burlington/Oakville border. Please see our Arena Maps page for more information.

How many games per week are there?
There is 1 game per week with the exception of one or two weeks where games are played on Saturday and Sunday. There are no practices.

How many games in total are played?
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 10 games. There are 9 Regular Season Games followed by Minor Ball Hockey Day which is the Championship Tournament. A team could play several games in the tournament based on how far they advance.

Are there practices?
There are only games scheduled. There may be practices for the individuals who wish to participate on the Provincial Tournament teams.

Do you have programs for girls and boys?
Yes, girls and boys can play. Our program is currently co-ed, there are not seperate divisons by gender.

When does the season start and end?
The HMBHL season usually starts at the end of April and runs until the last weekend of June which is Minor Ball Hockey Day. The OBHA Provincial Championships are held in mid July.

What equipment is required?
A CSA Approved Hockey helmet with full facial protection, Hockey gloves and athletic cup are mandatory. Soft elbow pads, approved shin / knee pads are also recommended.

What are the Ball Hockey rules?
Ball Hockey rules are the same as Ice Hockey with the exception of 1 rule. In Ball Hockey the offensive zone Offside rule used is called "The Floating Blue Line".

What are the age groups?
The age groups are similar to the Minor Ice Hockey age groups but the number of registrants and their ages determines how the age groups are split up.

What is the cost to register?

What do I get with my registration fee?
All registrants receive a team jersey, player/team photo, an HMBHL commemorative souvenir, player package, league games and Championship day tournament, certified officials, OBHA membership with insurance coverage, Online Player game by game Statistics/Standings and a chance at a Provincial or even National Championship.

Can I play with my friends?
We always try to place you with the people you want to play with but unfortunately we can't guarantee this.

Can I register as an individual or as a team?
You can register as an individual or register an entire team but team entries are reviewed as we try to create balanced teams.

How can I play for one of the HMBHL Provincial Tournament Teams?
If we get enough interest from our HMBHL members we will send teams to the OBHA Provincial Championships. The opportunity is open to all our members. If there are too many kids interested for a certain age group then we will send the players that will best represent our programs. If we require players to fill a team we will go outside our program but only if it is required, spots are open to our members first and formost.

Is there a cost to play for one of HMBHL Provincial Tournament Teams?
There will be a cost to play for these teams but the cost is still yet to be determined. All players will receive new uniforms to play for these team as matching jerseys and shorts are mandatory for these events.

Are there different divisons for different skill levels?
Based on the current size of our program our emphasis is more on putting players the same age together, there is currently no divisons based on skill level. The skill levels range from beginners to players who have previous experience.

What do the winners get for winning the HMBHL Championship?
All participants get a an HMBHL commemorative souvenir regardless if you win or not. Players or Teams also have the opportunity to go to the OBHA Provincial Championships to play other teams from Ontario in a Championship Tournament.

What and when are the OBHA Provincial Championships?
The Ontario Ball Hockey Association Provincial Championships are Tournaments held in July of all the participating League Champions or Representatives from all over Ontario in hope of a Provincial title and the shot at a National Championship. The location of the tournaments vary by year and are held in July.

What and when are the CBHA National Championships?
The Canadian Ball Hockey Association National Championships is a tournament for the Provincial Championship winners. The tournament is held the following year and the location of the tournament varies by year.
